Your questions answered.
Getting started, connecting your data and making the most of Dipai.
Getting started
Who is the platform built for?
Dipai is built for vessel crews and onshore teams, giving them a shared view of operations, fuel efficiency, emissions and machinery condition.
Can we start with a single module?
Yes. The platform is modular, so you can choose the capabilities that fit your fleet’s needs and available data, then expand over time.
Do all our vessels need sensor integration?
No. Vessels can start with manual reports, weather and AIS data. Sensor integration enables more detailed analysis and additional platform capabilities.
How does Dipai connect to our vessel data?
Dipai can connect to an existing data collection provider through an API or install its data collection software on your onboard server.
Data & integration
Will crews need to enter the same information twice?
Existing reporting integrations, such as UniSea, can let Dipai reuse information already recorded by the crew, avoiding duplicate entry in the Dipai platform.
Who owns our vessel data?
You retain full ownership. Dipai supports sharing your data with your own cloud environment or selected third parties.
What happens if the vessel loses connectivity?
With Dipai’s onboard data collection software, data can be buffered locally and transmitted when connectivity returns.
Does Dipai control equipment onboard?
No. The onboard integration collects data for analysis; it does not send control commands back to the vessel’s automation or power management systems.
Insights & reporting
How does Dipai help reduce fuel consumption?
Dipai analyses operating modes, engine configurations, sailing speed and vessel performance to identify opportunities for more efficient operations.
How much historical data is needed for benchmarking?
Dynamic fuel-efficiency benchmarking typically requires one to two quarters of historical data.
How does Dipai support maintenance decisions?
Dipai analyses machinery loads, condition measurements and engine performance tests to identify deviations and support earlier investigation.
Can Dipai measure the impact of hull or propeller cleaning?
Yes. The platform compares performance before and after maintenance, accounting for factors such as operating mode, draft and weather.
How does Dipai support SEEMP and emissions reporting?
Dipai uses historical performance to support SEEMP targets and follow-up. It also prepares data and documentation for EU/UK MRV and IMO DCS reporting.
